The College of Law and Political Science is considered a recent establishment under this name, as it was established in 1427 AH. However, the establishment of the departments under its umbrella dates back to more than forty years for law and political science specialists.

The college is considered one of the most distinguished and pioneering colleges in its specializations, and it has established its leadership position by implementing a number of quality academic programs, and carrying out a comprehensive update process for all study plans for the majors of law and political science, and updating the vocabulary of the scientific material for all academic courses. These steps culminated in the college obtaining international academic accreditation from the French Authority for Evaluation of Scientific Research and Higher Education (AERES), and national accreditation from the Education Evaluation Authority (the National Center for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation).
